Jennifer Lawrence to play war photographer in Stephen Spielberg movie
Based on Lynsey Addario's biography
Jennifer Lawrence has been cast as photographer Lynsey Addario in a big screen biopic directed by Stephen Spielberg.
41-year-old photojournalist Addario has taken photos of the victims of conflicts and natural disasters including Afghanistan, Iraq, Darfur, Pakistan, the Congo and Haiti. She was also kidnapped in Libya in 2011.
Her critically acclaimed biopic released last month, It's What I Do: A Photographer's Life Of Love And War, sparked a huge bidding war from film studios.
Warner Brothers secured the rights and drafted in directing legend Steven Spielberg to helm the movie with Jennifer Lawrence in the lead role.
Fresh from making the acclaimed American Sniper, Andrew Lazar has been drafted in to direct the movie.
Several other big name stars reportedly wanted the role including Reese Witherspoon, Natalie Portman and Margot Robbie.
Jennifer Lawrence next hits cinema screens in November when the final instalment of the Hunger Games franchise, ‘Mockingjay – Part 2’, is released.
