Gethin Jones goes speed dating LIVE on-air
Was it love at first sight?
Hits Radio presenter Gethin Jones celebrated his upcoming birthday by being set up by his co-stars Gemma Atkinson and Dave Vitty this morning (Friday 8th February), LIVE on-air!
After listener Cathy rang in the previous morning, making it very clear that she fancied Gethin, Gethin's co-presenters thought what better way to introduce the two by inviting Cathy into the studio for a good old-fashion round of speed dating!
The 'couple' had 60 seconds to ask each other questions and get to know one another. Cathy started by saying, "On Come Dine With Me, I was described as a man eater and this tiger needs satisfying. So, what would your friends describe you as?"
Impressed by the thought and preparation his admirer had put into her questions, Gethin proceeded to respond that he saw himself as "More of a dog". Nice.
Upon explaining himself, the 40-year-old said this was due to him being "friendly" and "handy around the house".
After this obscure revelation, the speed date seemed to only go downhill from there, with Gethin becoming too embarrassed to answer Cathy's questions, saying, "You know what, I've never been embarrassed before on a date but I am now! I've got no answer to these questions at all!"
Thankfully, Gemma was eager to step in and help her co-star, revealing he in fact can play the piano, the violin and can fly a plane.
Unfortunately, it seems Cathy began to have doubts about her potential romance with Gethin, revealing, "I don't really fancy dating a dog".
Although this couple was not meant to be, we have at least come to the conclusion that on Gethin's next date, he is to wear an earpiece with Gemma in the kitchen giving him feedback!
