Dancing On Ice star and Coronation Street actor Antony Cotton has suffered injuries, including fractured ribs during training, however he is determined to continue this weekend!

Antony released a statement to the press in which he described what happened. He said, "On Wednesday, Brandee and I were training for this week's show when we lost our balance and both fell backwards onto the ice."

He continued, "Luckily, Brandee was uninjured but I was taken to hospital where I discovered I had fractured a couple of ribs, front and back."

He went on to thank the staff at "Silver Blades ice rink in Widnes, the doctor and nurse at The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle" and Brandee who never left his side throughout.

Surprisingly he also said that the "show must go on" and that he is hoping to compete in the competition this weekend with "painkiillers and sequins" to get them through.

After sustaining his injuries, Antony also took to Twitter to tell his fans he was 'Okay', and although he doesn't have four weeks to recover, but he will 'keep going'.

A number of celebrities replied to his tweet wishing him a speedy recovery, including recently eliminated Dancing On Ice contestant Perri Shakes-Drayton who said, 'Sorry to hear Ant. You fighter'.

Actor Michael Xavier also wished him well but told him to look after himself.
