It’s been 21 years since The Crystal Maze last aired on our TV screens but now it looks like the show could be set to return for a charity special.

According to reports, the popular game show will return in October for a one-off special as part of Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer fundraiser. A spokesperson for Channel 4 said “Channel 4 is looking at a special Crystal Maze for Stand Up To Cancer.”

Rumours have also been circulating that former Doctor Who actor David Tennant could be hosting the show. However, it seems these reports are not true.

The problem solving show was highly popular in the 90’s, with over six million viewers tuning it.

Originally hosted by Richard O’Brien, before Ed Tudor-Pole took over for the final two seasons, contestants took part in challenges to win time crystals in order to gain time inside of ‘The Crystal Dome’ for the final challenge.
