Cash-strapped Abs from Five is eBaying his BRIT Award to buy gardening tools
He's fallen on hard times
At the height of his fame with Five, Abs Breen (aka Abz Love) sold 1.5 million albums and 2 million singles in the UK alone, scored three number one singles and eight Top 10 smashes.
Now, after quitting the recently reformed boy band last year, Abs is trying to raise a bit of much-needed cash by selling off his BRIT Award on eBay.
Five won the iconic gold award in the best pop act category (beating Geri Halliwell, Ann Lee, Martine McCutcheon, S Club 7 and Steps to the title) and now Abs is giving you the chance to this unique item.
He writes on the product description: “You are viewing one real deal Brit award for newcomer best pop act 2000 awarded to Abs ex Five rapper, star of hit BBC2 show ‘Abz on the Farm’, Big Reunion and runner up CBB12.
“No more awkward silences when people come over to your house!! This is a real conversation piece even if you didn't win it! Guaranteed 100% real.
“Take advantage of my poverty and grab this rare opportunity to own a bit of pop history!!”
Now a fledgling farmer, Abs added: "Selling to fund a delivery of topsoil and maybe some garden tools. Has been dropped and knocked a few times and is currently being used as a door stop.”
At the time of writing, the highest bid for the BRIT Award stands at £5,451. With five days yet to go that figure is set to rise!
UPDATE: Bidding has now reached over £1million. Yep, that's right, £1million actual pounds. With that money Abs will be able to buy the entire Chelsea Flower Show.
