X Factor contestants Brooks Way have broken their silence on the drama which ended in the pair not being able to perform in the first live show at the weekend.

X Factor producers suspended Josh and Kyle Brooks just hours before the first live show kicked off on Saturday, as an allegation relating to Josh and his ex-girlfriend Amelia emerged.

After Dermot announced the news that the boys wouldn't be performing to the public, many viewers were left wondering what was going on with the pair.

Now the duo have taken to Twitter to break their silence on the drama. They said, 'Today, we have had a tough day with a false allegation. Don't believe everything you read, both Amelia and Josh will be stating the truth'.

They then added 'The truth always wins'.

When a national newspaper published a story, Josh was accused of hitting his ex-girlfriend when she told him not to walk on the new carpets in her family home. Josh has also been accused of having anger issues and beating up his brother Kyle on a regular basis.

However, after the story emerged Amelia later admitted she didn't 'sell her story' and seemingly denied all of the shocking claims.

She said, “For anyone reading today’s article I DID NOT sell it! If you read it, it’s written by a friend who has obviously profited from the stories. I’m just as shocked and hurt as many of you reading it are, but I DID NOT SELL IT.”

X Factor bosses are undergoing a full investigation over the allegations, with Brooks Way eagerly waiting to hear if they will be allowed back on the show.

Meanwhile, Louis Walsh's act Bratavio were the first casualties of the 2016 live shows. Bradley and Ottavio battled in the sing off against Saara Aalto but failed to impress Simon, Nicole and Sharon who voted to keep Saara in the show.

The live shows continue next weekend.
