Pop star Adele has been pictured visiting some of the heroic firefighters who tackled the Grenfell Tower fire that claimed the lives of 79 people, who are either missing or presumed dead.

The efforts of the firefighters have been widely praised, with those who attended the fire admitting they broke protocol so that they could save as many lives as possible.

The singer met a handful of firefighters from Chelsea Fire Station on Monday.

Firefighter Rob Petty posted the photo on Facebook and wrote, 'Not everyday the wonderfully grounded and caring Adele pops into Chelsea Firestation for a cup of tea and a cuddle'. sic

A second image shows the make-up free star surrounded by the firemen from Chelsea Fire Station, while posing in front of a fire engine.

The firefighter also shared a photo of the 'wonderfully grounded' mum-of-one, laughing as she joined them for a cup of tea.

Last week Adele was spotted visiting Grenfell Tower with her husband Simon Konecki and comforting those affected by the tragedy.

Adele was reportedly "going around and hugging everyone she could to comfort them".
