As Adele releases her new single 'Hello' (which definitely stands a strong chance of going to number one) we've decided to take a look back at her 5 most successful singles in the UK.

5. Skyfall

After a lot of speculation, Adele revealed that she’d be recording the song for Skyfall, released in 2012 as part of Global James Bond Day. Although admitting she was a ‘little hesitant’ about taking on the task, the song got to the top of the iTunes charts and reached number two here in the UK.

The song won an Oscar for the ‘Best Original Song’ and was the first James Bond theme to win at the Brit Awards, the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards.

4. Set Fire To The Rain

The power ballad, released in 2011, reached 11 in the top 20 and stayed in the charts for 55 weeks. However, it did reach the top 10 in many other European countries, including Austria, France and Germany.

3. Rolling In The Deep

Although it reached number one in 11 countries, over here it only reached number two! It spent 65 weeks in the charts, scooped three Grammys and as for the video, that bagged three awards too.

The single, from the album '21', was even covered by American rock band Linkin Park.

2. Make You Feel My Love

Originally a song by Bob Dylan, Adele’s version of 'Make You Feel My Love' featured on her debut album ‘19’. Released in 2008, it spent 72 weeks in the charts but surprisingly only reached number four here.

1. Someone Like You

At the top of our list is 'Someone Like You', released in January 2011 from the album '21'. It spent a whopping 75 weeks in the charts and secured Adele’s first and only number here, while also topping the charts around the world.

If that wasn’t enough, it was also the most sold single of the year.

It's been covered by many artists, including Katy Perry and the cast of Glee. But it’s a bitter sweet success for the star, who admits she was emotionally drained when she wrote it about an ex-boyfriend.

That's the top five and in case you've not seen it yet, here's the video for the new single 'Hello'.
