Teenager in custody after boy reportedly assaulted in Anlaby

A 15-year-old is being questioned after a boy was reportedly assaulted on Hull Road in Anlaby.

Police say the 13-year-old victim was walking with a friend on Sunday evening (27/10) when he was approached by an unknown group.

It's reported he was assaulted with a glass object, leaving him with wounds to his face, neck and back.

Following the incident, the 13-year-old boy was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

A 15-year-old was arrested on Monday, on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, and remains in police custody.

Detective Inspector Andy Crawforth said: “This is an awful set of circumstances that have left a young boy with serious injuries.

“I would like to offer reassurances that my team are conducting several lines of enquiry since the incident occurred to identify those involved."
