A serial offender has been sentenced to four and a half years in prison after being charged in connection with multiple offences in Hull.

Cobain Pearson broke into numerous businesses premises and addresses across the city over the space of seven weeks.

Humberside Police say this kind of prolific offending won't be tolerated.

Pearson, 29, of Wansbeck Road, Hull appeared at Hull Crown Court on Friday for sentencing after pleading guilty to burglary dwelling, eight counts of attempted burglary, three counts of commercial burglary and attempted commercial burglary.

The sentence was handed to Pearson following a series of incidents between Sunday 10 March and Monday 29 April where he broke into a number of business premises and addresses across Hull and stole items of value.

On three occasions, Pearson targeted a business on Ings Road where he stole alcohol and cash, before escaping through a vent in the ceiling of the building.

In a separate incident on Monday 29 April, Pearson broke into an address where he stole two TV’s along with two sets of car keys, before fleeing the scene and taking both vehicles.

Pearson was arrested on Thursday 9 May and subsequently charged with multiple offences.

“This type of prolific offending will not be tolerated, and I am pleased that Pearson can no longer cause harm to members of our community.

“I would like to thank the victims for reporting Pearson’s crimes to us and also the public who assisted in helping us find him. It is thanks to the information provided by the them that we were able to locate Pearson and secure this conviction."
