Hundreds of pigs have been killed in a fire at a farm in East Yorkshire.

Humberside Fire and Rescue were called to a farm in Catwick on Sunday to reports of a large fire in a barn.

In a statement online, HFRS say they were called around 1 pm on 7th July.

The barn off Riston Road in the village has been completely destroyed in the blaze, with smoke damage also affecting a neighbouring barn.

Sadly, all pigs within the barn were fatally injured.

It's not yet clear what caused the fire to start in the first place.
