Flood alert issued for North Seat Coast at Bridlington

Environment Agency warns of possible flooding of low-lying land, promenades and roads

People on the East Coast are being warned to take care near beaches, promenades and coastal footpaths and roads due to the threat of large waves and sea spray.

A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency for the North Sea Coast at Bridlington.

The alert warns that due to the combination of wave action and windblown spray on the coast, flooding of low-lying land, promenades and roads is possible between 4:30pm and 9.30pm.

The Agency says the areas most at risk include the the North Sea coast from Bridlington to Barmston, particularly Bridlington South Pier and the Bridlington Lifeboat Station.
