Yellow alert for possible snow in Dorset

We're being warned snow and ice could bring potentially hazardous conditions to Dorset tomorrow (Thursday 30th November).

The Met Office has included the county in a yellow weather warning, which stretches across the South West.

It comes into force from 3.00am and lasts until 4.00pm.

We're warned to expect:

• Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services

• Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths

• Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces

Forecasters suggest any snow flurries are likely to be relatively small for us though, perhaps 1 to 3cm at most.

It'll also mainly affect inland areas, above 100 to 200 metres.

But they've said icy patches may also develop on untreated surfaces.

The weather is likely to remain chilly into the weekend, and getting a little warmer for next week - but still remaining in single figure temperatures.
