Chance to have a say on Weymouth's Seafront Masterplan

A survey's being held for the next four weeks

Weymouth residents are being asked to help fine-tune a masterplan to improve the seafront.

The views of local businesses and visitors are also being sought over the next four weeks, to go towards future planning for the area.

Our views are needed on issues like an enhanced promenade, improvements for Greenhill and Preston beaches and better catering facilities along the promenade.

The current draft Seafront Masterplan, drawn up by HemingwayDesign, makes a range of recommendations to enhance Weymouth’s seafront.

The Town Council has now set up the survey to hear what we think.

Cllr Ryan Hope, Chair of Services Committee, said:

“The draft Seafront Masterplan proposals cover the Promenade walkway along the seafront near the Pavilion end of the beach up to Overcombe in the north. When people were asked for initial views on this last year, we were really encouraged by the response that was received. Now we want to fine-tune the proposals so we have a clear plan of action for what Weymouth Town Council can deliver for residents and visitors.

“So, whatever your age, we need you to give us your views in our short survey which runs for three weeks from today until August 15th. Go online to have your say.”

Once the survey closes, the results will be analysed, and a report will go to the Council’s Services Committee.
