A new TV series which starts tonight (Wednesday 26th July) aims to highlight what they're calling a 'county like no other' - Dorset!

The Channel 5 show 'Dorset: Country and Coast' will run over six parts telling the story of the 'magic, beauty and traditions' of our 'unique' area.

The programme's being narrated by Alan Titchmarsh.

Some local ecological projects will also feature, including the Studland Bay Marine Partnership's work on eco-moorings.

In a statement about the show, Channel 5 said:

"We take a stroll through rolling countryside, visit charming seaside towns and marvel at the dramatic Jurassic coast.

"We explore Dorset's most iconic sites, uncover lesser-known hidden gems, and examine daily Dorset life through a variety of perspectives, meeting the people of Dorset, from locals to holidaymakers and farmers to wildlife conservationists, and immerse ourselves in the sights, sounds and tastes of the region. 'Dorset' is an indulgent, immersive dive into a truly wonderful county."
