Man airlifted to hospital following Sherborne crash
Three vehicles were involved in the collision on the A30
A man in his 60s has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a three vehicle crash on the A30 near Sherborne.
Two teenagers - a male and a female - also suffered serious injuries in the collision at Purse Caundle at around 6.15pm on Thursday (7th September).
A red Ford Transit minibus, a red Toyota Yaris and a red Volkswagen Polo were involved in the crash.
A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving offences.
PC Adam Carr, of the Roads Policing Team, said:
“We are carrying out a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances of this incident. I am appealing for any witnesses to the collision, or the manner of driving of any of the vehicles prior to it, to please contact us.
“I would also ask anyone who was driving in the area and has dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check their footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.
“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”
