Three men arrested after series of thefts on Bournemouth beach

Wallets, Airpods, trainers, phones, a watch and bags were taken

Three men have been arrested after a series of thefts on Bournemouth beach.

Police say it follows reports of a group stealing bags while people were in the sea at around 2.00pm on Saturday afternoon (9th September).

The incidents happened in the Undercliff Drive area, east of Bournemouth Pier.

Items - including wallets, airpods, trainers and mobile phones - have been recovered.

Two men aged 23 and from London and a 19-year-old man of no fixed abode have been arrested on suspicion of theft.

They have been released under investigation as further enquiries are carried out.

PC John Barron, of Bournemouth police, said:

“We are continuing to investigate this matter and I would urge anyone who witnessed these reported thefts, or who has any information that might assist our enquiries, to please contact us.

“We are also keen to reunite the owners of the recovered items with their property and I would urge anyone potential victims who have not already contacted police to please come forward.”
