Police are investigating the disappearance of four road signs recognising Bournemouth's twin city of Netanya in Israel.

The boards have been removed from Welcome to Bournemouth signage at the town's borders.

Netanya is a coastal tourist resort in central Israel.

BCP Council confirmed it had not removed the signs and said Bournemouth remains twinned with Netanya.

Police have been informed about the disappearance of the signage at Magna Road, Mountbatten Roundabout, Ringwood Road near the recycling centre and New Road near Northbourne Roundabout.

A BCP Council spokesperson said: "We have been made aware that some signage has been removed at Mountbatten Roundabout and several other locations.

"We are currently looking into this issue."

It is not known if the removal of the signs is in response to the Israel-Gaza war.
