Detectives investigating rape in Bournemouth

A woman in his 30s has reported an attack in the Westbourne area

Detectives have arrested a 46-year-old man on suspicion of rape in Bournemouth.

A woman in her 30s told police she was attacked between 9.30pm on Friday (12th April) and 2.00am on Saturday (13th April) in Skerryvore Gardens in Alum Chine Road.

A man arrested has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Detective Inspector Ben Griffin, of BCP CID, said:

“An investigation is underway and we are continuing to support the victim while our enquiries continue.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area of Skerryvore Gardens and Robert Louis Stevenson Avenue between 10pm on Friday 12 April and 2am on Saturday 13 April 2024 to please come forward as you may have important information to assist us.”
