Around 95% of Dorset school place applicants get first choice
Parents have been finding out which choices they've been offered
Parents in Dorset have been finding out this morning (Tuesday 16th April) where their children will be going to primary and middle school in September.
Dorset Council say 95.8% got their first choice primary with just under 95% offered their first choice of middle school.

“We recognise the significance of school choice for families, and our team goes above and beyond to attentively address their needs.
“I am thrilled that the majority of families in the Dorset Council area have secured their top preference for primary schools.
“As these students prepare to embark on their new educational journey in September, I extend my warmest wishes for their success.”
Parents have until the 30th April to accept an offer of a place, or appeal a decision.
Whilst preparing for a September school start, families who receive benefits, are also being encouraged by Dorset Council to consider what other support they may be entitled to.
All children in reception, year 1 and year 2 automatically get free school meals, but it is still worth checking if you are eligible for benefit-related free school meals.
Eligible children gain further support such as free holiday activities, and schools will receive extra funding to support a child’s education.
