Police investigating report officers assaulted near Dorchester hospital
It is believed to have occurred as police responded to a welfare call on Wednesday evening
Police say they are investigating a report that two officers were assaulted near Dorset County Hospital.
The force believe it occurred as they responded to a welfare call for a man who was on the roof of the hospital in Dorchester.
Officers were called there at 6:40pm on Wednesday.
The assault reportedly took place before the man went on the roof.
Neither officer was injured.
The man was eventually brought down from the roof at around 12:15am on Thursday, and given appropriate care from other emergency services.
