Weymouth College is asking for planning permission to build a single storey extension on its Cranford Avenue site, to create a new teaching space.

If approved the new room will be built in red brick with dark grey window frames to match the existing building.

Nine car parking spaces are expected to go to make way for the new 200 metre square building.

That would be at the northern end of the 214-space car park beyond the sports centre.

The college says the new workshop-style space will play a part in the delivery of modern methods of construction courses, and will be partially paid for by the Local Skills Improvement Fund.

A similar extension, also for construction courses, was added by the college in 2021.

Public comments on the latest proposal can be made to Dorset Council by December 6th.
