Moors Valley’s new Adventure Park officially open
The new Adventure Valley has been a massive hit with young kids
Moors Valley’s new Adventure Park has been a “huge success” since it opened.
The site opened in late August but ran temporary Landrover sessions since Easter last year.
Children can experience what it’s like ‘behind the wheel’ as they drive through an off-road obstacle course.
A total of 25,000 laps have been completed around the Landrover trail, that equates to 3,000 miles (the equivalent of travelling from Dorset to New York).
We heard from school children at Adventure Valley and one said: “The bumpy bridge knocked you about and it felt like you were a small trampoline bouncing up and down.”
Another added: “When I first got on, I was scared but we got to do it twice, so I felt better the second time.
“I drove a bit too fast on the seesaw and I was like ‘oooff’ and then on the bumpy bridge it felt like car was going to flip, I loved it!”
The concept for the Land Rover course was born out of a staff members holiday away where her two children loved drove around a muddy track.
She returned to Moors Valley and said, “we have to bring that here,” two years on and her vision has come to fruition.
One pupil told us: “If it didn't rain, it would have been perfect! I really liked the little signs on the side of the Land Rover track because they told you what was coming up.”
In response to his favourite part of Adventure Valley, Patrick said: “I just couldn't choose it was amazing, it was probably the bumpy bridge or the seesaw.”
Country Park manager, Carl Prince told us: “The Land Rover course has got huge potential for bigger and better obstacles.
“The reaction has been really positive, people are really pleased with the level that we've pitched it at and I think most people appreciate that we've tried to put a nature twist on it as best as possible.”
Adventure Valley also feature a nature inspired 18-hold mini-golf course where visitors have already played 4,500 rounds of golf.
One student said: “I loved the golf course a lot because I got most hole in ones.”
