Man suffers broken jaw in Verwood assault

A man's recovering from having his jaw broken in two places, after he was punched during an assault at Verwood.

Dorset Police were called to the town's football club just before 1.00pm on Saturday (27th July) to reports of an altercation in the gravel car park.

A man in his 30s was injured following a 'verbal dispute' with another man - the victim's glasses were also damaged.

Police have arrested a man in his 30s from West Parley, on suspicion of GBH with intent and criminal damage.

He's been bailed as investigations continue.

Sergeant Ben Turner, of Dorset County CID, said:

“We are continuing to investigate this incident and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.

“I would also like to appeal to any motorists with dashcam footage who were in the car park around the relevant time to please check their footage to see if they have captured anything to assist our enquiries.”
