Jewellery and cash stolen in Ferndown house burglary
A further attempted break-in was reported on the same night
Police in Ferndown are investigating a burglary and an attempted burglary on the same night.
Thieves gained entry to a property in New Road between 6.30pm and midnight on the Spring Bank Holiday (Monday 27th May).
High value jewellery, cash and identity documents were stolen.
It's also reported that three men smashed a glass door at property in Westwood Avenue at around 10.05pm the same evening.
The offenders made off when they were disturbed by the occupants.
Descriptions shared
One of the man involved is described as white, aged in his late 20s, around five feet eleven inches tall and of large build with short dark brown hair.
He was wearing a dark-coloured tracksuit.
The other two suspects are described as white, aged in their early 20s, around five feet seven inches tall and of slim build.
They were also wearing dark-coloured tracksuits and had their faces obscured, either with masks or by having their hoods over their heads.
PC Kayleigh Barguss, of East Dorset police, said:
“These incidents have both caused distress to the victims involved and have resulted in damage or valuable items being stolen.
“We are determined to identify the offenders involved and I would urge anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity or anyone with information that might assist our enquiries to please contact us.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured relevant home CCTV, doorbell camera or dashcam footage.”
