Investigation launched after woman found dead on railway in Bournemouth

Officers are working to piece together her movements prior to the incident

Detectives are urging witnesses to come forward after a woman in her 20s died on the railway line near Bournemouth railway station.

Emergency services were called to the tracks at 8.18am on Sunday, 16 November, following reports of a casualty on the line.

Paramedics attended, but despite their efforts the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation is now under way to establish the circumstances leading up to her death.

Officers are working to piece together her movements prior to the incident and are appealing for anyone who may have seen her that morning.

The woman was described as wearing a black puffa-style jacket and blue jeans.

Detectives are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the area around the station or who may have witnessed her on or near the tracks in the moments before the incident.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the British Transport Police as soon as possible.
