A Dorset beach is close to being redesignated as fit for bathing according to the local MP.

It follows recent discussions between West Dorset MP Chris Loder and DEFRA to recognise the innumerable benefits redesignation will have for the local community and economy.

Mr Loder said: "I’ve been campaigning for Church Cliff Beach to be redesignated as a bathing beach.

"Subject to a two-week consultation until the 10th March, the Environment Agency will designate the site. To ensure we have the best chance of securing redesignation, I’d encourage all residents, bathers, businesses, and organisations to submit their views so we can get this over the line."
