A large amount of cash and jewellery has been stolen from a North Dorset home.

Thieves broke into a property in Marnhull in the early hours of Sunday (28th January), with the items taken from inside a locked cabinet.

A car was also reported 'suspiciously close' to the burgled property at around 5.00am that morning.

There's now an appeal for witnesses.

PC Ioanna Spence-Samoili, of Blandford police, said:

“Our enquiries are continuing and I would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area around the relevant time.

“I would also appeal to residents and drivers within the areas of Marnhull as far south as Pleck to please review their dashcams and home security doorbells and cameras to see if they have captured anything during the early hours of the morning which may be of relevance to our investigation.”

If you can help with any information, you're asked to contact Dorset Police on 101, quoting reference number 55240014401.
