Detectives are investigating what they're calling a 'very distressing' robbery at a shop in Blandford.

A man armed with a metal bar threatened staff and demanded money from the safe at the Central Store in Heddington Drive at around 8.40pm on Saturday night (27th April).

The offender left the shop in the direction of Jubilee Way.

No one was hurt - and no arrests have yet been made.

CCTV images have been shared by police of a man they're looking to trace.

Detective Inspector Andy Marsh, of Dorset County CID, said:

“This must have been a very distressing incident for the staff member involved and I want to reassure members of the public that we are carrying out a detailed investigation into this incident.

“I am releasing CCTV images of the suspect and while I know that his face is not clearly visible, I hope that it may jog someone’s memory or somebody may recognise him from the clothing he is wearing.

“I would urge anyone with information about the man’s identity to please contact Dorset Police.

“We are also keen to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to us, as well as anyone who may have captured relevant home CCTV, doorbell camera or dashcam footage from around the time of the incident.”
