Thieves have attempted to break into a car in Poole, before being disturbed by a member of the public.

It's alleged two males were seen trying to gain entry to a vehicle on Symes Road, near the junction with Blandford Road, at around 8.00pm on Monday (15th April).

One was wearing a grey tracksuit with the hood up and white designs on the front, and reportedly forcing the passenger door with a large chisel-type tool.

The other offender is described as wearing a black tracksuit with the hood up.

They left the scene when a member of the public shouted at them, in the direction of Inglesham Way.

PC Jack Taylor, of Poole police, said:

“We are conducting enquiries into this incident and I am keen to hear from any residents or passing pedestrians who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area.

“I would also urge residents with home CCTV or doorbell cameras, as well as motorists with dashcam who were driving in the vicinity, to please check their footage from the evening of Monday 15 April 2024 to see if they have captured anything of relevance.”
