Police investigating a suspected anti-Semitic attack in Swanage have arrested a man.

A man and woman were assaulted and verbally abused in the High Street at around 11.00pm on Saturday 4th May - over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Officers have questioned a local man in his 40s on suspicion of religiously aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault - he's been bailed.

PC Katy Ross, of Purbeck police, said:

“We are continuing to investigate this matter and I am keen to speak to any witnesses who have not already spoken to police.

“I would urge anyone with information that might assist our enquiries to please get in touch.”
