Four people including two children have been seriously injured after a collision on the A30 near Shaftesbury.
A man has sustained injuries described as ‘life-threatening’ by Wiltshire Police.
The incident, which happened around 6pm on Friday evening, involved a silver BMW travelling towards Shaftesbury and a black Toyota Verso driving in the opposite direction.
The BMW driver, a man in his 40s, was airlifted to Southampton Hospital.
His next of kin have been informed.
The driver of the Toyota, a woman in her 40s, and two children in the car with her, were taken to Salisbury District Hospital with serious injuries.
