Two arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Carlisle

A man and woman have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident in Carlisle.

Police received the report at 8:06am today (June 10) to a male with stab wounds in Whernside.

Officer attended and also located a woman and child with stab wound injuries

A 55-year-old man arrested is in police custody.

A 53-year-old woman arrested remains in hospital in a stable condition.

A girl of primary school age also injured remains in hospital in stable condition.

There continues to be no further risk to the public and officers say people should expect to see a continue police presence in the area whilst they carry out investigations.
