Emergency services at the scene of a collision between car and bus on M6

Two people have been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries

Emergency services have been responding to a serious collision on the M6 near Kendal.

Crews were called to junction 37 (A684) at 11.50am today (19th Sep) following the incident involving a Hyundai i10 car and a Stagecoach bus.

The driver and passenger of the car have been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

Police say the driver of the bus was uninjured.

The northbound exit road is currently closed whilst a forensic collision investigation is carried out.
