Zarah Sultana confirms Your Party membership to go ahead despite set back
The MP for Coventry South had clashed with Jeremy Corbyn MP over the new party's membership platform.
Zarah Sultana, the MP for Coventry South, has confirmed that the new membership platform for Your Party will go ahead, following an online spat between her and co-founder Jeremy Corbyn MP last week.
She's since taken to social media, to confirm that the new left-wing political party - formed by the two former-Labour MPs to battle the growth of Reform UK - will have its conference go ahead in November, as planned.
On Thursday (18 September), Ms Sultana took to social media to say that neither of the emails sent out regarding the party's new membership system had "dual authorisation" by both her and Mr Corbyn, with the former Leader of the Labour Party stating "legal advice is being taken."
The MP for Coventry South went on to claim she had been excluded by Mr Corbyn and other allied MPs from the party's operations, in what she described as "a sexist boys' club."
But, it would appear that they've managed to rekindle relations, with Ms Sultana posting on X on Sunday evening (21 September): "I know many people are feeling demoralised - I share that feeling.
"We find ourselves in a regrettable situation, but my motivation has always been to ensure the collective strength of our movement, put members first and build the genuinely democratic conference and socialist party we so urgently need.
"I am determined to reconcile and move forward.
"I am engaged in ongoing discussions with Jeremy, for whom, like all socialists of my generation, I have nothing but respect.
"We will find a way to continue in a unified way centring the grassroots of our movement.
"Fascism is growling at the door. The stakes are too high for failure to be an option."
