This follows the events of 29 August, during which a man in his 80s from the Rugby area was allegedly contacted by a man incorrectly claiming to be an officer of the Metropolitan Police.
The man allegedly proceeded to defraud the victim out of over £3,000 cash, which was handed over to a courier under false pretences.
The victim contacted Warwickshire Police for assistance after a second call of the same nature was reportedly made on 30 August.
A man was subsequently arrested.
Follow-up investigations showed evidence of another victim in Norfolk, who had reported being defrauded out of around £3,500 in a similar fashion.
