A pub in Coventry has been damaged by fire.

Warwickshire Fire Service was called at around 4.30 this morning, to the Cottage Inn, on Black Hall Lane, Fillongley.

Half of the first floor and the roof were affected.

Three fire engines have been in attendance, from Coleshill and Nuneaton, along with the turntable ladder and a water carrier.

A post from the pub on social media says they're 'heartbroken'.

A statement on Facebook says: "The Cottage Inn, Fillongley family would like to inform you that the pub will be shut for the foreseeable future due to fire. Whilst the family are safe we are all of course heartbroken. We thank you for your continued support at this difficult time. Luke, Ellie and the team x."
