Coventry man convicted of murdering his grandmother
The incident happened in September 2023.
A Coventry man has been found guilty of murdering his grandmother in the city.
Sam Croston, 37, inflicted terrible injuries on Pamela Croston, who he was living with at an address in Everdon Road in September 2023.
Officers were called after Pamela's emergency pendant was activated.
When they arrived they found Sam Croston sat near his grandmother, who was injured on the ground.
He was arrested and she was taken to hospital, where sadly she later died from her injuries.
Officers found evidence that he had been using drugs in the property.
In interview, Croston said he had no memory of the attack, suggesting she had fallen.
Despite this, the injuries Pamela had suffered were as a result of a deliberate assault.
Croston was convicted of murder on 24 February and will be sentenced at Warwick Crown Court at a later date.
