Police tell us criminal damage - estimated to be worth in the region of £5,000 - has been carried out at Plymouth Argyle's training ground.

Officers add a fence was cut, and the irrigation system was broken.

In a statement, Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police have been notified following a report of criminal damage at Harpers Park, in Outland Road, Plymouth.

"The vandalism is thought to have taken place on Sunday 14 July.

"It was reported that a fence was cut, and the irrigation system broken, with damage estimated to be in the region of £5,000.

"Anybody with information should call police on 101 or report via our website quoting crime reference 50240175078."

An Argyle spokesperson said: “We were appalled to find extensive damage to our Harper’s Park Training Facility and are appealing for any information the public may have to find the perpetrators.

“Details of how to provide information are available on our official channels and we are offering a reward for information/names that lead to the identification and prosecution of offenders.”
