Two men, arrested on suspicion of spiking a girl's drink at a Bristol nightclub, have been given a curfew by police.

The two 18-year-olds from Gloucestershire were detained over the weekend after a video went viral appearing to show a man dropping a tablet into a girls drink without her knowledge, at Pryzm on the Bristol Harbourside.

They face potential charges of administering a noxious substance.

In an update today (September 4th) Avon and Somerset Police say the two teenagers have been released on bail as investigations continue, but they cannot leave home between the hours of 9pm and 6am.

They have also been explicitly told not to visit any nightclubs.

In the video, which has been shared widely on social media, two girls film themselves selfie style as a man reaches between them.

He appears to be trying to grab his own drink off another man but as he does so, seems to drop something into the glass of one of the girls.

Many have commented on the footage expressing shock and dismay, while one woman says "this is while I never feel safe in clubs."

Police are advising that if you believe your drink has been tampered with on a night out they recommend alerting bar or security staff at the venue, reporting the incident to police by calling 101 and seeking immediate medical advice.

The same applies if you’re with someone and believe their drink has been tampered with.

They add that adding a substance to someone’s drink without their knowledge or permission is a serious offence, especially if used for the commission of other offences, and could result in serious harm if the person suffers an adverse reaction.

Enquiries into this incident are ongoing and anyone with information which could help is asked to call 101 and give the reference 5221228105.
