Man 'believes he was shot' after incident in Nailsea earlier this week

Investigations continue following an incident on Tuesday this week in Nailsea.

Avon and Somerset Police say they're still working out what happened after a man was injured in the town on August 8 - with the man, aged in his 30s, unsure as to whether he was shot.

In a statement sent to us, Avon and Somerset Police said: "Officers were called to Silver Street in the early hours by ambulance crews who were treating a man who had a small wound to his abdomen.

"The injury was not life-threatening or life-changing and he was released from hospital after treatment later the same day.

"The man, who is in his 30s, believes he was shot, but was unable to describe any weapon or how he was injured.

"No object has been recovered either from the wound or in a search of the street. The cause of his injury is currently unknown.

"A man has been arrested and released on police bail while enquiries continue. We don't believe there is any risk to the wider community.

"We're keen to hear from anyone who was in Silver Street between 2am and 3am on Tuesday, or who has dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage of the area which would could help. Please call 101 and give the reference 5223190309 with any information."
