A Grand Iftar will be held in Bristol Cathedral this evening (4th April), with organisers Muslims4Bristol inviting people to come together tonight and break the Ramadan fast.

This year’s event focuses on the theme of ‘hope’, aiming to bring communities together to reflect on recent tragic events and join in solidarity.

The Grand Iftar started in Bristol in 2017, shortly after the Manchester Arena bombing. Themes each year have included community cohesion, sustainability, women in Islam, and sanctuary.

The event is an opportunity to celebrate Bristol’s diversity, giving everyone, no matter their faith, an experience of breaking of the fast (Iftar).

This event is free, fully accessible and open to everyone. However, due to restrictions on numbers, you must reserve a place in advance to attend, with a maximum of five places per booking.

The event begins from 6.45pm and the Iftar meal will take place at 7.50pm. As well as sharing a meal, the event will also include guest speakers and networking before and after the meal.

Tickets can be reserved via this link.
