A funeral has been held for the third day in a row for a teenage boy fatally stabbed in Bristol.

Mason Rist was 15 when he was killed outside his own home on Illminster Avenue on Knowle West in January.

Max Dixon who was 16 died in the same incident with his funeral held on Thursday, while a funeral for 16-year-old Darrian Williams, who lost his life in a separate incident in Easton, was held on Wednesday.

Mason's funeral began with a procession from his home, with his family all wearing shirts from his favourite football team, Liverpool FC.

His coffin was also covered in photos of players and Liverpool symbols, as well as branding of his favourite games console.

Following a procession to Knowle Methodist Church a service was held inside, though so many people attended to pay their respects that it was also broadcast outside to those who could not get in.

Harvey who was one of Mason's friends said he couldn't believe it when he heard Mason had been killed.

"Obviously my thoughts and prayers go out to his family, I hope they're doing all quite well, but I'm not really sure what to do with what's going on at the moment," he said.

"I was sleeping at my friends house at the time and I got a phone call from my mum saying something had happened with Max and Mason.

"At the time I thought it was a joke, but when I got the same call from my sister saying it was Max and Mason I was devastated...

"We sat down for what felt like hours just saying to ourselves, why, why them?"

Since Max and Mason's deaths five people, four of them children, have been charged with their murders.

Meanwhile two other young people have been charged with murder over the death of Darrian Williams.

Earlier this month organisations came together to declare more must be done to combat the issue, saying enough is enough.

Avon and Somerset Police have begun a new operation to target serious violence amongst young people.

Victoria Bommer-Clark is head teacher at Oasis Academy John Williams, where both Max and Mason went to school.

Speaking to us after Max's funeral she said: "None of us hope or expect to attend the funeral of a 16-year-old young man who's life has been so tragically cut short.

"There was a real sense of family bond, how close the whole family were...

"All of us got a real sense of what Max was like...fun loving, cheeky character who had really good friends and enjoyed absolutely every single moment that we were blessed to have him with us.

"One thing that's blown me away is how our whole school community has really pulled together," she said.

"I think out of this what all of our greatest hope is, that some good comes from this utterly tragic situation."
