An elderly man accused of killing his wife in Weston Super Mare earlier this year has pleaded not guilty to her murder.

John Woodbridge, who is 91 and from Ashcombe Road in the town, is charged with murdering 92-year-old Anne Woodbridge.

She was found dead on the morning of Monday 30 January at a home in the town.

Appearing at Bristol Crown Court this morning (March 24) via video link, Mr Woodbridge spoke only to enter his plea.

A provisional trial date has been set for 18 December this year.
