Bristol will host a special Jubilee beer trail this summer.

The Bedminster Beer Trail will be available over the Jubilee weekend and will allow people to sample drinks at 12 different venues in the suburb.

A press release put out to announce the trail says each venue will host "something special and out of the ordinary", including outdoor bars and barbeques.

Emily Penney, co-owner of Alpha Bottle Shop, said: “We’re incredibly proud of the beer community we have here in Bedminster and we want the rest of Bristol to know just how amazing it is which is why we had the idea to bring a beer trail to BS3.

"There’s so many independent venues, highlighting the best of what beer has to offer.”

Alpha Bottle Shop will be on the trail, as will Tap, On-Point Brewing, The Coronation, The Steam Crane, North Street Standard, The Old Bookshop, KASK, The Spotted Cow, The Hen & Chicken, The Malago, Tobacco Factory and the Bristol Beer Factory Tap Room.

As well as being able to sample beers from these independent pubs, bars and breweries - each of the venues will come together on Monday May 9 at the Bristol Beer Factory, to create an exclusive festival beer called ‘South of the River.’

South of the River will be available at each venue over the bank-holiday weekend, including a number of fringe venues like Corks of North Street and Bristol Loaf where you can grab the festival brew in cans to take-away and enjoy at home.

Tom Clermont from Bristol Beer Factory, said: “The idea of creating a beer that was unique to Bedminster and exclusive to the beer trail was something we collectively wanted to do.

"Getting everyone involved in the brewing process, adding in hops and giving it a good stir just really connects each venue to the trail.”

Anyone who completes the trail can hand in their stamped map to the Bristol Beer Factory Tap Room and get rewarded with a can of South of the River which will be available exclusively over the event weekend and a 10 percent discount across draught beer for the rest of the month at participating venues.
