Workers in Bournemouth among the happiest in the UK
That's according to job site Indeed's Workplace Happiness Score

New research has revealed that workers in Bournemouth are among the happiest in the UK.
Indeed's Workplace Happiness Score, the largest study of its kind in the world, has put the Dorset town sixth, with 59% of workers satisfied with their current position.
The recruitment website analysed happiness surveys completed by 5.5 million individuals.
Nationally the results show 36% of UK workers are unhappy in their jobs, and that the happiest sectors to work in are education or aerospace & defence, which are both tied for first.
The average British worker can spend a fifth of every year feeling unhappy in their role, and even one in 10 new starters can feel unhappy in the first six months of a new job.
A quarter (27%) of respondents in the worldâs largest study of work happiness said they are happy at work most of the time.
Providing workers with a clear sense of purpose and a space in which they can achieve most of their goals, whilst feeling supported, are the biggest drivers behind the happiness of workers in the education sector.
The results are based on what Indeed calls '15 drivers of work happiness'. Those are Happiness; Belonging; Appreciation; Inclusion; Support; Purpose; Energy; Learning; Achievement; Trust; Flexibility; Compensation; Stress Level; Satisfaction and Manager Support.
