Woman struck by van in Dorchester

The vehicle involved initially didn't stop at the scene

A woman in her 20s have been struck by a van in Dorchester.

The collision happened on Prince of Wales Road at around 8.00am yesterday morning (Tuesday 29th November).

She was a pedestrian, with a black Renault van involved.

Her injuries aren't thought to be serious, but she was taken to hospital for treatment.

The van didn't initially stop at the scene, but was located by police shortly afterwards.

Police Sergeant Geraint Butler, of the traffic unit, said:

“Our enquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances of what happened and I would ask any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to please come forward.

“I would also like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while emergency services dealt with the incident.”
