Woman dies following Weymouth car crash

The driver, in her 70s, passed away three days after the collision

A woman involved in a car crash in Weymouth has died in hospital, three days after the collision.

An orange Peugeot, driven by a woman in her 70s, was the only vehicle involved in the incident on Chickerell Road at around 3.15pm last Tuesday (25th October).

The car ended up on its roof, with the woman taken to hospital.

She died on Friday 28th October, with her family informed and the coroner notified.

PC Tracy Downer, of the traffic unit, said:

“Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the woman who died at this extremely difficult time for them.

“We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of this collision and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to please contact us.”
