Woman, 70's, critical condition after car overturns in Weymouth

A woman in her 70's is in a critical condition in hospital after her car overturned in Weymouth.

Dorset Police say the single-vehicle collision happened at around 3.15pm yesterday afternoon on Chickerell Road. The car, an orange Peugeot, ended up on its roof.

The driver, a woman in her 70s, was taken to hospital by the ambulance service and remains in critical condition.

The road was closed to enable emergency services to safely attend the scene.

Police Constable Tracey Downer, of the traffic unit, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses, who have not spoken with police yet, to please come forward.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle being driven prior to the collision.”
