A 'new fun-filled family festival' is being planned for Weymouth later this year.

'Summerfest' is being put together by Weymouth and Portland Round Table, to take place at Redlands Leisure and Community Park on Saturday 3rd June.

Weymouth and Portland Round Table Chairman Adam Luckhurst said:

“SummerFest is shaping up to be not only one of the largest and most popular events in Weymouth this summer, but also the biggest fundraiser in Weymouth and Portland Round Table’s calendar - so save the date of the 3rd of June in your diary now.

“SummerFest has all the makings of a fantastic day out for local families and visitors alike with a jam-packed line up of activities and attractions, including live bands and the opportunity to watch the FA Cup Final all topped off by a grand fireworks display.”

Other activities planned for the day include a farmers' market, children's football tournament, crazy golf, bouncy castle, rides and trampolines plus falconry, Combat Lab and classic car displays.

Entry to the event will be free, but donations will also be collected for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, and the Round Table's appeal to raise money for community defibrillators.

Redlands Leisure and Community Park is run by operators Active Dorset - Clive Nelson from there said:

“We welcome the SummerFest event on the 3rd of June and are looking forward to it. It represents a big new start for Redlands.”
